Seminar «Interpretation of scrapings and biopsies of the endometrium. Physiological changes and non-tumoral lesions of the endometrium»

On 19th and 20th of June Pathomorphology School EMC held a seminar «Interpretation of scrapings and biopsies of the endometrium. Physiological changes and non-tumoral lesions of the endometrium».

This format of the seminar is really new for Russian medical education, but nowadays it becomes more popular. The first day was the distance learning. Participants of this seminar could analyze clinical cases at home or at work, using telepathology.

The second day included lectures from the best specialists of pathomorphology branch. Also they analyzed diagnostic cases with the participants of the seminar.

The Head of Pathomorphology School Sergey Lishchuk opened the seminar. He congratulated everybody with the Day of medical worker and noticed that it is very important to take part in discussions. Also he paid attention to the importance of practical part of this seminar.

Traditionally Pathomorphology School organizes seminars with specialists from European medical center and invited specialists, which are the leaders of professional society.

On this seminar the external lector was professor, MD Oleg Zairatyants. The audience was very interested in his reports. They tried to ask him a lot of questions in order not to lose opportunity to get new information on different themes. He told about new classification of non-tumor pathology of the endometrium. Also he introduced reports on these themes: «Hyperplasia of the endometrium», «Endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia» and «Changes of endometrium caused by hormones».

The speaker from European medical center was PhD, pathologist Konstantin Pavlov. He paid his attention on practical aspects of the pathomorphology work and diagnostic algorithms. He tried to answer all questions and to analyze every important theme. Besides traditional themes (cyclic changes of the endometrium, diagnosis of infertility, chronic endometritis) doctor Pavlov told about pathology of unevolved pregnancy and postnatal endometrium. When he finished his reports, participants of the seminar asked him for more one lection. So Konstantin Pavlov told about diagnostic of male infertility.

 Participants of this seminar could improve their knowledge and practical skills. Also they exchanged their experience with specialists from different regions of Russian Federation and even neighboring countries. At the end of the seminar all participants got certificates.
