"Breast cancer: a multidisciplinary approach"

Breast cancer - the most common malignancy in women. In this case, treatment success of breast cancer detected at an early stage, close to 100%. That is why the early diagnosis of breast cancer is very important. The early diagnosis of breast cancer is the theme of the workshop: all the methods, their advantages and disadvantages. Also we will talk about the treatment of breast cancer.

The seminar will be held in the format of interdisciplinary discussions with mammologists, surgeons, radiologists, radiation therapists, pathologists, oncologists.

The first day will be dedicated to lectures.

• Epidemiology of breast cancer in Russia and all over the world
• Breast Cancer – pathological aspects
• Planning surgery in breast cancer diagnostic training vector
• Patients at high risk for breast cancer – who are they
• Modern instrumental possibility of early detection of breast cancer
• Screening mammography
• Digital mammography and tomosynthesis: effective increase diagnostic capabilities, reducing false-positive results of the study
• Magnetic resonance mammography: indications, technique, BI-RADS
• Minimally invasive diagnostic methods: stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound, MRI vacuum biopsy
• Ultrasonography in the diagnosis of breast disease, the possibility of elastography
• Radionuclide diagnosis of breast cancer
• Magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of DCIS
• BI-RADS 3- observation or diagnosis
• Breast MRI in the postoperative period, after radiation and chemotherapy
• Oncoplastic surgery – current trends

The second day will be dedicated to practice.

Students will be divided into 2 groups (optional).

We offer practical training in the following areas:

1. Biopsy under ultrasound with working on preparations of pork. Practical class at the training center «Praxi Medica», the first MGMU IM Sechenov (st. Bolshaya Pirogovskaya 2, p.7)
2. MR-guided biopsy and stereotactic biopsy (two methods). Working on biological material. European Medical Center. St. Shchepkina 35. Activity will include two lectures on relevant techniques, work in MRI study with the opportunity to practice patient positioning, work in the office for Stereotaxy - you will do a biopsy, work on the horizontal X-ray stereotactic table with biopsy gun.

Location: Conference Hall EMC, st. Shchepkina 35.

Date: April 7-8, 2015, from 9.00 to 17.30.
