Educational course is aimed at introduction Russian surgeons to progressive methods and innovative concepts in different branches of modern surgery. School was established by EMC Medical School with the support of the European Medical Center.

Aim of the Practical Surgery School

Education and training of surgeons through their participation in solving contemporary complicated and controversial issues; integration of high technologies into everyday practice of Russian surgeons.

The main objectives of the Practical Surgery School

• Introduction of surgeons and doctors of related practice to progressive methods of treatment surgical pathology by tailoring educational programs for surgeon, surgical nurses, outpatient and inpatient surgical nurses.
• Development and publication of optimized treatment and diagnostic standards of surgical illness.
• Organization of necessary conditions for intern and resident physician education, interested in continuous postgraduate training.
• Information support of professors of Surgical departments.

Tailoring courses’ formats we took into account specific organization of surgery learning process which implies necessary visualization of the educated material that can be quite difficult to perform in technological terms. We also considered the fact that in most modern hospitals with advanced surgical technologies in Russia internship opportunities for most surgeons are quite limited.  That served the main reason for choosing live-surgery master courses as main format of educational programs.

Live surgery offers a perfect opportunity to watch the on-line broadcasting right from the operation theatre: operations are performed by famous Russian and foreign surgeons, the audience can ask any questions concerning the operation, to get acquainted with advantages of operative approach, technical peculiarities and distinguishing characteristics of methods.

Program of master-courses includes time for discussion and questions.

Format of webinar is also available. Webinar helps to facilitate educational process by making it more illustrative. It also allows surgeons from all over the world acquire unique surgical techniques.

Practical Surgery School organizes extramural events in surgical centers located in regions of Russia. Surgeons and specialists of related professions of EMC Medical School educational programs participate in the course.

Our lectors are professors and participants of Russian and international medical congresses, symposiums, in which advanced treatment techniques of EMC experience are exhibited. This gives wonderful opportunity to develop theoretical part of the Surgical School.
