Seminar «CT and MRI of the shoulder joint»

On 26-27 of June the Radiology school held a seminar «CT and MRI of the shoulder joint». Traditionally the seminar consisted of practical and theoretical questions. This seminar showed different points of view of traumatologists and radiologists.

The fist lector was the radiologist EMC Irina Gustova. Her report was about MR anatomy of the shoulder joint. She combined theory and practice in her speech.

The head of Radiology school Irina Trofimenko continued speaking about the main theme of the seminar and told about the methods of MR-researching. Also she told about rules of patient positioning. She analyzed different images of this process and spoke about artifacts in MR-researching this anatomical region.

Then the radiologist of Central Clinical Hospital of Russian Academy of Sciences Uchevatkin A.A. told about MR-diagnostic of injures rotator cuff tendons and glenoid lip. The listeners of the seminar were very interested in his speech and asked a lot of questions.

In the middle of the day the participants of this seminar divided into two groups. The first one was analyzing description algorithms of MRI of the shoulder joint with the radiologist EMC Sinitskii M.A.. The second group with Irina Trofimenko analyzed practical features of MR- researching in MRI office.

Traumatologist Ilyin told about diagnostic of pain syndrome in the shoulder joint.

At the end of the day all the participants discussed different difficult cases. The participants of the seminar took an active part in this discussion.

On the next day the program of the seminar consisted of different blocks. Irina Trofimenko told about MR-semiotics. The trauma surgeon Mansour Khasanshin spoke about modern methods of treatment of this injures. Doctor Sinitskii reported about his experience in MR and CT researching in post-surgery situations. After every block speakers were discussing different theme cases. All participants of this seminar liked this method and were satisfied with it. Our lectors will use this way on other seminars.

At the end of the day the members of this event could play the lottery. The main prize was one video lecture on our website, which the winner could watch for free.
